Ultimate Lie in Addiction... Except!

For me, pornography has too many areas where individuals try to say it's Ok or it is a gray area. This is dangerous, essentially this is what has happened with our society. We have gradually become more and more accepting of something that is, "innocent." What I mean by this is I feel the moral decay of our society has diminished by allowing acceptance of, a little more skin, a little more kissing, a little more violence, just a little more and telling us it's not real.

The problem is that the continuous onslaught of immorality is causing us to accept more and more mentally and our brains don’t know how to handle it. Our brains are fabulous organisms that can and do continue to grow throughout our lives. With all of the over stimulation of sexuality in our society, our brains do not know how to process this. Literally our brains our saying, “What do I do with this? This feels good.” This is where the addiction starts to take root. We are accepting it as a way to survive when we are bored, lonely, angry, stressed or tired.

Now the slippery slope begins...

We have started to accept just a little more. Then we receive a joke or a new TV show comes on, and it is accepted because it’s so funny!

The ultimate lie begins, that show was great....EXCEPT! The biggest lie in our society is except, because this is allowing us to internalize, rationalize and accept the negative thing into our lives.

An example of this is definitely seen in the media. At first, you could not have a woman and a man in the same room; then, they could be in the same room as long as they are not sleeping in the same bed. Well, they can sleep in the same bed as long as they are not doing anything. The progression increases; they are only kissing in bed; they are only lying on top of each other with clothes on; they are covered by the sheets; I only saw (notice the beginning of internalization) their bare back. I only saw their ...

You get the point. Acceptance of the thought that it was great... EXCEPT is a slippery slope that some fall a little ways and catch them self but others fall to the very bottom and feel completely without hope and confidence. They don’t feel like they can ever recover from their fall. They don’t feel like anyone could possibly love them.

What a great fallacy. There is hope but it takes commitment and willingness to change.

We are loved by many people but we just don’t recognize it.
