Understand True Meaning of Surrender
57
“The successful turn from using to abstinence is a conversion phenomenon that is defined as a psychological event in which there is a major change in personality manifestation. In other words, the conversion experience that results in the creation of a positive attitude toward reality follows an act of surrender. Surrender is the moment of accepting reality on the unconscious level. The individual knows the deepest truth, regardless of wishes or explanations to the contrary. Defenses used in the service of denying that reality (denial and rationalization, defiance and grandiosity) no longer work. When the true unconscious surrender has occurred, the acceptance of reality means that the individual can work in it and with it. Reality is loss of control - powerlessness over the drug. The individual who has accepted the reality of loss of control can proceed to live with that reality, beginning the process of recovery. Paradoxically, the state of surrender is positive and creative. Rather than an abnegation of responsibility, the admission of powerlessness is the first step in the assumption of responsibility.”

No matter what the drug maybe: sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc. to surrender means to admit you are powerless and that you need help. Help is all around an addict they just don't see it or feel they need it. Once they recognize they need help, that is when the addict starts to make his/her recovery.
Pornography addiction is just as damaging as drugs, alcohol, etc., sometimes even more damaging because it can be kept hidden for longer but eventually, it to, will manifest its self and sometimes it may be to late to save a marriage or prevent damage but it is never to late for help. Get help and start recovery, today!
